Most drivers would not want a second person in the vehicle keep criticizing how they drive and offer advices as to how to sit, steer, change gear and handle the road. They may think that they are helping but they can be highly dangerous hazards. Dealing with backseat drivers

You losing the plot and arguing with them is not going to help either of you. Also they probably believe that they are great help.

You need to do things that will take their mind off worries they have. You must tell or show them that you do not need their help and keep them engaged otherwise. Here are a few things you could do to reduce the interference from your passengers.

Look at your driving and consider that you made them uneasy. Stay calm and avoid things like aggressive overtaking or speeding. If you made them uncomfortable with your driving you cannot blame them.

Turn on the radio to something they may like. This will take their mind off the road and they will probably leave you alone.

A companion is a great help especially in long journeys. They can keep you fresh and stop you from drowsing. They can help you by changing the radio station and giving you drinks and so on.
